We are seeking a versatile and reliable CDL Driver and Industrial Laborer to support our trucking operations while also assisting with shop floor duties throughout the day. This position is ideal for someone who holds a valid CDL (Class A, B, and C) and is comfortable transitioning between driving, material handling, and industrial painting tasks as needed.

This is a hands-on role that supports multiple departments and requires flexibility, strong work ethic, and a demonstrated commitment to safety.

Location: Arlington, WI

Shift: 1st shift; 6:00AM - 4:00PM

Responsibilities:

CDL Driving and Transportation

  • Safely operate Class A, B, and C commercial vehicles to transport structural steel to customer sites
  • Load, secure, and unload materials for delivery
  • Perform deliveries in a safe, courteous, and defensive manner
  • Communicate professionally with customers at delivery locations
  • Follow all DOT, company safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain required driving logs, inspections, and documentation
  • Participate in yearly intrastate physical and random drug testing

Material Handling and Industrial Painting Support

  • Load and unload steel materials in the shop and from trucks
  • Move, store, and organize raw materials and finished products using forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment
  • Verify incoming materials against purchase orders and report shortages, damage, or incorrect shipments
  • Assist with inventory organization and stock rotation
  • Support production teams as workload demands shift throughout the day
  • Prepare steel surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming
  • Apply industrial coatings using spray equipment, rollers, or brushes
  • Inspect finished work for quality, coverage, and consistency
  • Perform touch ups or corrections as required
  • Maintain painting and spray equipment
  • Follow all safety, PPE, and environmental guidelines

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A or Class B CDL is required
  • Clean driving record
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience with material handling or working in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Industrial or structural steel painting experience is a plus
  • Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes or willingness to be trained
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across departments
  • Dependable, adaptable, and safety focused

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, reach, and climb as needed
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
  • Comfortable working in noisy, dusty, or temperature varying environments
  • Capable of working both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
