Job Summary

We are looking for a Project Engineer to work with our Steel Drafting team in Arlington and Waunakee, WI locations. The Project Engineer’s role is to assist with the organization and management of the day-to-day operations, as well as any other responsibilities that management sees fit.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all detailing activities and act as the primary liaison with external detailing partners.
  • Review documents, addendums, and updates to identify project impacts and maintain accurate detailing schedules.
  • Respond to detailer questions and RFIs, ensuring timely and accurate clarification of contract documents and drawings.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Customers to resolve complex detailing or design issues.
  • Track and document all clarifications to ensure consistency across the project.
  • Review and approve shop drawings for completeness, constructability, and compliance with standards.
  • Identify and resolve drawing discrepancies, manage revisions, and ensure proper distribution of updated documents.
  • Support modeling and drawing tasks using SDS/2 and CAD software
  • Ensure all approvals, clarifications, and revisions are complete prior to fabrication release and coordinate with PMs and schedulers to meet production timelines.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and contributing to standards, checklists, and process enhancements.


Specialized Knowledge & Skills

  • Familiarity with Powerfab or Tekla EPM is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with Monday.com is preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of scheduling principles and workflow coordination.
  • Background in steel fabrication or related structural industries.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with a strong commitment to keeping projects on track and running smoothly.
  • Dedicated to producing accurate, thorough, and complete work.
  • Proficient in common computer operating systems and software, including Microsoft applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Technology or a related field.
  • 1+ year of experience in Project Management, Manufacturing, Construction, or Engineering environment.
  • Prior experience working with steel fabrication or structural projects is preferred
