Description:

We are seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team. Your job will entail working in diverse settings to produce quality results. The Heavy Equipment Operator operates large equipment including cranes, excavators, tractor backhoes, bulldozers, and other machinery as needed for commercial and/or heavy construction. Must have 3 years experience operating relevant equipment (crane, excavator or bulldozer).   Ideal candidates adhere to company safety standards and take pride in their work. 

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Safely and proficiently operates all heavy equipment
  • Performs operator maintenance on all heavy equipment on the job site
  • Oversees rigging and ensures safe lifting procedure
  • Layout and complete excavations for structures and pipe trenches at depths up to 40’
  • Installs earth retention and dewatering systems
  • Assists in installation of batter boards, setting lines, grades, offsets, and elevations
  • Establish and transfer benchmarks
  • Rigging and signaling (crane/excavator communications)
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Perform other construction duties as needed

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements:

  • Safety knowledge and skills
  • Knowledge and skill operating crane, excavator, bulldozer, and tractor backhoe
  • CDL or ability to obtain CDL
  • NCCCO crane certification or ability to obtain certification
  • Blueprint reading
  • Operate transit & laser level
  • Proper use and maintenance of heavy equipment
  • Crane/excavator signaling
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to climb and work up to 30’ heights

Minimum Qualifications Required at time of Application:

Must have three years heavy equipment operating (in relevant equipment) experience or apprentice program graduate or other equivalent education experience. Ability to occasionally lift 100#, climb and work at 30’ heights, ability to travel up to 300 miles and stay overnight 3-4 days per week.  Knowledge of or working with wastewater or water treatment is a plus.

Payscale:

$29-$36/hour based on experience
