Description:

The Quality Control Manager (Electrical) contributes to the overall success of CR Meyer and its electrical construction customers through supporting the project team during the planning, budgeting, construction and post-construction project phases of large-scale electrical projects. Works collaboratively as a team to ensure the project meets CR Meyer’s safety guidelines, as well as all designated quality, schedule and budget requirements.

  • Conducts and oversees the administration of all electrical quality inspections, evaluations, testing procedures, etc. conducted within the assigned scope of work.
  • Collaborates with CR Meyer trade teams and coordinates with the owner’s engineering and operations team as systems and portions of the project are turned over sequentially.
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of the electrical and process piping to ensure proper lockout as far as equipment at the proper location.
  • Demonstrates a solid understand of how to unlock systems to energize and support startup/commissioning while keeping installers and others safe.
  • Develops and prepares inspection tests and reviews test result reports within area of responsibility.
  • Completes all code-required visual inspections.
  • Documents inspections on a daily basis.
  • Maintains working knowledge of the Project Quality Plan and all other quality-related records and data within the scope of work.
  • Tracks and schedules required Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) inspections.
  • Effectively communicates with Project Manager, superintendents and other personnel to assure specifications and code requirements are met.
  • Organizes and ensures safekeeping of all testing and inspection reports, as well as all other quality related documentation and data.
  • Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
  • Verifies that all other parties who are responsible for administering required tests and evaluations are completing them in a manner consistent with CR Meyer standards.
  • Ensures that all work that does not meet CR Meyer standards is quickly and appropriately corrected.
  • Complete dimensional and torque checks as required.
  • Verifies that electrical personnel are working within the range of their qualifications.
  • Keeps the Project Manager and General Manager - Electrical informed of any situations that require attention, maintains open lines of communication with the project team.
  • Demonstrates a full working knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures in accordance with CR Meyer safety guidelines. 
  • Leads by example observing and promoting CR Meyer safety guidelines at all times. Actively follows, trains and and enforces compliance with all safety protocols.
  • Leads by personal example and is a strong advocate for the CR Meyer Mission-Vision-Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Wears all assigned PPE and observes CR Meyer safety guidelines at all times. 
  • Due to project deadlines and demands, regular and reliable attendance is required.
  • Completes all related reports and paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Represents the CR Meyer brand in a positive, professional manner at all times. 
  • All other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Three to five years of related experience, preferably in a quality control role and heavy industrial construction or similar setting. 
  • Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology preferred.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Working knowledge of concepts, protocols, best practices and regulations relevant to electrical quality control.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to complete all CR Meyer training and perform job duties within safety guidelines including, but not limited to, First/Aid-CPR Certification, OSHA 30 and SafeStart.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and comply with CR Meyer’s Drug & Alcohol Policy and Program.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
